Breast Implant and it's effect on breastfeeding
Contradictory to general belief that once you have a breast implant, you can't breastfeed.  The truth is breast implant usually is not a hinder to breastfeeing.  The implant is usually securely placed under a layer of chest wall muscle to stablize it and milk production glands (lobules) are above these muscles.  Thus thee two do not interfere with each other.

The only possible problem that might occur depends on where the incision made to enter the implant is located at.  Most of the time, the plastic surgeon makes the cut for bbreast implanting in the fold under the breast, which does not affect the breast tissue or milk production glands.

However, sometimes the cut is around the the areola-the dark circle around the nipples, where baby's mouth will latch on when breastfeeding.  This makes the implant less noticeable, thus results in a more appealing result.  But the huge drawback is that that might clog or cut off some or most of the milk ducts that carry milk to the nipples.  This might cause back up milk, clogged ducts and masstitis and decrease the mother's milk supply.

One thing I can think of that a breast implant would interfere with breastfeeding is that implanted breasts are already larger and probably a little heavirt than normal breasts, so, when milk comes in or when the breasts are full, those moms will have to make darn sure that they have good supporting nursing bras or their back will suffer!
